Infused WaterThree-Ways
I’m suggesting 3 different combinations that I know work, but you can try others. keep it simple as this will make it easier to introduce in your routine.
To be honest, you are unlikely to get many nutrients leaching from the fruit and herbs into the water this way. However, you will get a hint of flavour and a very pretty jug of water! The idea is to make drinking water more interesting. There is some research showing that how attractively food is presented can affect our liking for it. Also, it is easier to form a new habit when we make it satisfying.
Equipment
1 large jug or water infusing pitcher
Ingredients
1 litre filtered water
Ice cubes
Method
- Place the combination of fruit and herbs of your choice in a large jug.
- Add the ice and fill the container with water. Add additional fruit and herbs to garnish if desired.
- Infuse for a few hours or overnight (in the fridge) before serving.
- The infused water will keep refrigerated for up to 3 days but discard the fruit and herbs after about 12 hours or as soon as they start looking discoloured.
